4. Random blood glucose test: This test measures the level of glucose in the blood at any time of the day, regardless of when the person last ate. A level of 200 mg/dL or higher, along with symptoms of diabetes, indicates diabetes.
5. Urine tests: Urine tests can be used to check for glucose and ketones in the urine. When blood glucose levels are high, glucose spills into the urine. Ketones in the urine indicate that the body is using fat instead of glucose for energy.
