Anti Cardiolipin Antibodies Test and anticardiolipin antibodies are related to thrombocytopenia, recurrent miscarriages, and premature labor and preeclampsia. Anti-cardiolipin antibodies (ACA) are adopted autoantibodies against cardiolipin. Created by the immune system, they are against their own cells, tissues, and organs and attack them, causing inflammation and damage.
They increase the patient’s risk of developing recurrent unfitting blood clots in the blood vessels. Cardiolipin antibodies are also associated with thrombocytopenia, recurrent miscarriages, and premature labor and preeclampsia. Anti-cardiolipin antibodies can be classified as IgA; IgG; IgM.
Why Anti Cardiolipin Antibodies Test Advised?
The Anticardiolipin Antibodies test detects the cardiolipin antibodies IgG, IgM existence, which is an essential process in the body’s ability to regulate blood clotting.
It helps diagnose an incongruous blood clot which may cause recurrent miscarriages, thrombocytopenia, unexplained thrombotic episode, a prolonged PTT (activated partial thromboplastin time), hemolytic anemia, thrombotic microangiopathy, SLE or other autoimmune disorders.
