Description

Advanced STI Screening Panel

STI Test: Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are often because of infections transmitted during sexual contact from one person to another person. They are also called venereal diseases or sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The individual may have sexually transmitted disease without knowing it. Most of the STDs do not show symptoms. Hence, it is often termed as sexually transmitted infections because the infection is present without having disease symptoms. If the STDs are untreated, they may lead to severe health problems like damage of organs, cancer, infertility, damage to the organs, blindness, etc.

Why STI test performed?

Most STDs do not show symptoms, so this test is important for a sexually active person. This test is also important in individuals with multiple partners, heterosexual men, or having unprotected sex. This may be recommended to you if experience any of the above conditions or if you are already diagnosed with the STD and to check the status of the other infections. In cases of pregnancy, you are recommended to undergo this test because there are chances of passing the infection to the baby at the time of childbirth. In case of men, if these infections are not detected at the early stages, it may lead to infertility.
